A “knot” ring. The ring symbolizes a knot that is not quite tied yet, but has all intentions of being tied. A promise ring.

live your life. if you take one thing from my blog, take this. don’t spend your life living it according to someone else’s standards or expectations. don’t cater your wants and needs specifically around another person. don’t devote yourself a hundred percent to anyone. instead, incorporate people into your life. if they do not fit the mold, let them go. don’t let people restrain you from achieving your goals. don’t feel limited by others’ shortcomings. keep pushing.

it is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all.

you’re the author to your own story. one of the worst things you can do to yourself is to let someone else write your story. i don’t mean that in a physical sense, but a metaphorical one. understand that you, solely, have control over your life. the chapters of your story are important stages in your life: education, work, romance, heartbreak, etc. allow the previous chapters to serve as learning experiences. the characters of your story are your friends and family. some will come and go, while some remain by your side through thick and thin. remember who’s significant and hold onto those people. but never let any of them influence how you life your life. live your life the way you want it, in moderation of course. in the end, you’ll find that living an individualistic life is much more gratifying that letting people tell you how to live your life. as steve jobs once said, “your time is limited, so stop wasting it living someone else’s life.”
